Proposed change of map in section "Venues for IPL 2012"
[edit]The map of India as shown in the section "Venues for IPL 2012" has been claimed incorrect by 49.200.186.50 (talk), and has asked to change it as soon as possible, latest by 12/3/2012. I have uploaded a modified version of the map (File:India location map 3.png), which may be the correct one.
If this is the correct map, please add the parameter "AlternativeMap=India location map 3.png" to the location map+ template.

Squad lists
[edit]I support moving the squad lists to a separate page. The page is already long, and due to lengthen as the tournament progresses. Also, having lists in collapsible boxes creates a problem for printing. Axl ¤ [Talk] 22:24, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Agree. We already have a separate page in List of current IPL team rosters to which we can redirect. Deepak Shimoga (talk) 23:17, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
- Don't redirect to List of current IPL team rosters itself, as it will change when the 2013 season starts. You can link to a "permalink" version of the article, which can be obtained from the page history by clicking on the date of the revision, copying the URL from the browser's address bar and inserting it as a external link, like this:
- The wikitext for this is:

- The squad lists are unlikely to change during the ongoing season but if a change does happen, another link can be inserted showing the new lists, and insert dates after the links, like this:
{{hatnote | 1 = Main article: <span class="plainlinks">[http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=List_of_current_IPL_team_rosters&oldid=486636486 List of 2012 Indian Premier League rosters]</span> from 4 April 2012 to {date} }}

Capacity of Eden Gardens
[edit]The capacity of Eden Gardens after the renovation post WC 2011 is 62,000. However, someone is consistently editing my update with 90,000. Moderators, please take a note.
Thanks! Kdg81 (talk) 18:17, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Please provide a reliable source to support your claim, so it can be added as a reference to the capacity. In this way it will have lesser chance of being changed. If this still continues, consider taking this issue to the dispute resolution noticeboard to seek dispute resolution. jfd34 (talk) 01:45, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Jfd34. Is there a better source than the wiki page of Eden Gardens!!! http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Eden_Gardens 114.143.121.29 (talk) 11:37, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is better to use an external source (outside of Wikipedia) as if a Wikipedia article is cited as a source, anyone who changes the capacity to 90000 can also change it on the article itself.
- 124.124.211.201 has changed the capacity back to 90000. If external sources say the capacity as 62000, revert the edit and cite a source, but do not revert without providing a source. jfd34 (talk) 10:23, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
Who changed the capacity of the EDEN Gardens back to 90,000? Please check the facts before making changes. Please refer to BCCI official website: http://www.bcci.tv/bcci/bccitv/community/venues/venue/4d1dcac36bcb9 Kdg81 (talk) 16:10, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
- According to the website provided and the Wikipedia article of Eden Gardens the capacity is 59500. It is neither 63000 as mentioned in this article, nor is it 90000. I have changed the capacity to 59500 and cited the given website as a source. However this will have to be verified with some other website. jfd34 (talk) 05:47, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
Hi Jfd34, if we are not going by the official BCCI site information, which other source should be trust? Someone is changing the capacity to 90,000 consistently and I will protest this unless someone explains WHY WE SHOULD NOT TRUST BCCI WEBSITE AS THE OFFICIAL WORD? Kdg81 (talk) 03:42, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- I have found two websites which say the capacity is 90000:
- And this may be the reason why someone is changing the capacity to 90000. If different sources are saying different things, it is better to just remove the capacity of Eden Gardens from this article to prevent further disputes. jfd34 (talk) 05:21, 24 April 2012 (UTC)

- The attendance of PWI and KKR match in Eden Gardens (5 May 2012) was more than 67,000, also last years MI and KKR match was more than 82,000. Clearly, the capacity of Eden Gardens is more than what is mentioned in the BCCI website. League progression
[edit]This bastardised the table where it doesnt even match by line anymore. It needs to be canged back to the better order. (at the same time the teams dont needs to chang eorder with each win on the table, only the formt needs to be revrted)Lihaas (talk) 12:44, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- This is because of the defined height of one of the rows in the leftmost table (the one listing the team names) which was actually defined to make the table rows align with those of other tables, but users using different skins or who have set their user CSS to different table row heights may see the table rows not matching. I have fixed this (not reverted to the previous format) so that no row has a defined height. This may have solved the problem without a need to revert. jfd34 (talk) 17:56, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
- Someones made a f*** up on this again...we need to align them as don.(Lihaas (talk) 19:14, 28 April 2012 (UTC)).
- What is the problem? Where and how do the teams not "match"? I do not see any problem. Maybe it is something wrong with the user, maybe he may be running a script which automatically sorts tables (wheteher they are sortable or not). jfd34 (talk) 13:59, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Reschedule reference
[edit]The reference used in the section about the schedule change is from the official website of IPL, and so is considered a self-published source which should usually not be used. I have tagged the source with {{self-published inline}} twice but 79.236.67.31 removed the tag saying it is "complete nonsense". This reference has to be changed to a third-party site. jfd34 (talk) 13:48, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
- You have obvouisly no idea what self-published source means. A source from the IPL is the best source for this that you can get.--79.236.90.121 (talk) 10:26, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Team flags to Match summary
[edit]Proposing to add Team flags to Match summary, similar to Wiki pages for International matches. This will help in easily locating the teams. I added it for match1 as and example and for your comments.
Anish Viswa 05:26, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is better to just add the flags to the template {{cr-IPL}} which is transcluded in this article for team names. In this way flags will be automatically added without having to add them for every single match. jfd34 (talk) 05:32, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Of course, it should be done like that only, that's why I added it for just one match as an example. Could you please add it to the template? It would be great if somebody can update the PWI flag since the one available now is based on last year's jersey.
http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Pune_warriors_colours.svg
Anish Viswa 05:43, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- Someone has removed the team flags. Maybe they are disagreeing with it so I have not changed the templatye yet. jfd34 (talk) 08:34, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- I undid the removal. He should discuss it here in the talk page first and then act based on the collective decision. He is not supposed to act as he feel or simply based on what is done last year.

- Well, the template might've got deleted due to many reasons, if so we can manually add it to each match which will take hardly 5 minutes (just copy-paste). even the last WC artcle uses such a representation, so there should be nothing against such a representation. ( http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/2011_ICC_Cricket_World_Cup ). It really helps to quick-locate matches of any particular team. The Pune flag is the main item, if that gets approved and accepted, then we can have a complete artcile. Till last year, country flag was used with the Man of the Match, we can put that one also.

- I have asked JohnCD (who is an administrator) wether it is appropriate to recreate the page. If it is not appropriate, the file names of the flags are very long, might as well create redirects with shorter names and use them here (e.g.File:KKRcol.svg or KKRc.svg to redirect to Kolkata Knight Riders colours.svg). This has to be done on Commons. jfd34 (talk) 13:32, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- JohnCD told me to take the issue to the deleting admin, JPG-GR. If the template is not restored a deletion review may be started, so please create the redirects for the time being. jfd34 (talk) 13:37, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- It is better not to include the flags, as mentioned by JPG-GR, as the seem to be only used on Wikipedia. If they are used on other sources, start a deletion review, otherwise the flags must not be included. jfd34 (talk) 05:34, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
Top performers list
[edit]Whether to keep top 5 or top 10 performers for most runs or most wickets in the relevant sections ? I feel 10 is not a big list. Also, adding team flags is useful, I feel.
Anish Viswa 09:01, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
- 10 players is too much, that I am certain. Most people also only bother about the top 5 players, even during games, they only show the top 5 players. Also, putting 10 players increases the size of the page, and after all the entire list is available of cricinfo and the official site. Fernando-the-King (talk) 18:39, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Currently it shows 3 wins Should be corrected to 4 wins. That is: Deccan Chargers 16 3 11 1 should be Deccan Chargers 16 4 11 1 This is major because DC is compared to PWI. And PWI has 4 wins compared to DC's 3 in the current table) Verynerd (talk) 08:49, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
