Attendance
[edit]The reference is wrong, on this Italian article said that there is very few fans on San Siro for Milan's matches, for exemple MIL-CAG 28,005. So I suggest to check the ref. Stigni (talk) 14:49, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
Serie A Table
[edit]I make the summary for avoiding other users being confuse caused by the original discussion.
For users who don't know how to arrange the table properly, please read this carefully. The rules are:
1st points; 2nd head-to-head points; 3rd head-to-head goal difference; 4th goal difference; 5th number of goals scored; 6th number of draws
Source: FIGC
The rules will be applied if clubs with the same amount of points only once all matches between said clubs have been played. Make sure you verify the table shown in Lega Serie A official website before saving the updates just to ensure you have arranged it correctly. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 06:28, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
For original discussion can be seen below:
- I guess the rules are not "1st points; 2nd head-to-head points; 3rd head-to-head goal difference; 4th head-to-head goals scored; 5th goal difference; 6th number of goals scored", but:
- "1st points; 2nd goal difference; 3rd number of goals scored; 4th head-to-head points; 5th head-to-head goal difference; 6th head-to-head goals scored."
- In week 23 based on legaseriea.it, Milan's position is over to Internazionale and Bologna's position is over to Sampdoria. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 12:19, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
- The rules was correct, but legaseriea.it apply it only after all the matches, and before it they don't apply the rule of hth matches. Stigni (talk) 12:49, 10 February 2013 (UTC)
- Are you sure? Please re-check legaseriea.it after all 10 matches played and you will know that goal difference takes precedence over head-to-head points. I have strong argument because like in week 23, in week 24 Udinese's standing was higher than Catania because Udinese had better goal difference. Udinese +2, Catania +1. Also about Sampdoria, Torino, and Chievo's standing, Sampdoria's standing was higher than Torino and Torino's standing itself was higher than Chievo. Sampdoria +1, Torino +0, Chievo –14. At last, Siena's standing was higher than Palermo. Siena –10, Palermo –17.
- If all based on head-to-head like you said, so Torino's standing was the highest and Sampdoria's standing was the lowest among them. For the others, as coincidence the standing based on head-to-head was as same as goal difference basis. If you know, Football-Italia.net also mentioned goal difference (not head-to-head) in some previews or reviews nor news. So I'm pretty sure here. For additional reference, English Premier League and UEFA competitions use goal difference basis in first place. Not sure about other league btw. We remembered that Manchester City won the title last season because had goal difference advantage, not head-to-head advantage. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 00:53, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm sure. Legaseriea apply it only after the 38th round, and after all the matches of the last matchday. It was always like that, and every year there is this problem. I can't find the regulamentation but I'm sure about that, for exemples go to see 2011–12 Serie A or 2010–11 Serie A and watch the tiebraking criteria. Stigni (talk) 12:38, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- Okay, I get your point. So head-to-head basis will be applied after week 38 right? If so, for week 1 up to 37 I think head-to-head column should be blanked because it will avoid confusion to other people if it is filled whereas the rules that being used is goal difference basis. The head-to-head column will be filled after week 38. That's my suggestion. How about you? — Wihan Tan (talk) at 02:32, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- Legaseriea apply this method but I think that we can apply the correct one if the teams at equal point have the same number of matches played against each other (e.g. A, B and C are at 20pt, but it was played only AvsB and BvsC, so we apply the gd rules and not hth rules). Maybe it is not correct for the main source but it is corret for te rules. The regulamentation said that tiebreaking criteria at the end of the 38th matchday and say nothing between the 1st and the 37th, but I find logic apply the same rules order and not a random tiebreaking criteria. Stigni (talk) 08:40, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- Added link to the regulation. Stigni (talk) 08:59, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- If we're not going to use head to head until the season is finished as per tables on the other site including that of Serie A should it not in some way be made clear on or near the table? Otherwise the classification rules being used is not the one which is stated and could therefore be confusing to users. Arthur7171 (talk) 13:42, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
- I have figured it out after week 26 ended. The rules is between yes and no. Yes if two or more teams that have same points have played home and away encounters. No if two or more teams just played home or away encounters.
- Example:
- Fiorentina & Catania, Cagliari & Torino, Bologna & Chievo standings will apply head-to-head basis because they have played home and away encounters.
- Sampdoria & Parma, Siena & Pescara standings will apply goal difference basis. The head-to-head basis will be applied until home and away encounters have done. That's why Sampdoria sit higher than Parma and Siena sit higher than Pescara at this moment.
- Now I'm sure 100% how the rules work. I will update rules section with additional note so the other users will not in confuse again. Also don't revert back without a discussion in this talk page. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 18:41, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand why don't we just follow the official Serie A table rather than trying to figure out our own method. Isn't this exactly what reliable sources are for? Plus, it's looks pretty silly when the Serie A's own website as well as renown papers like the Gazzetta list Inter 5th, Roma 6th, and Lazio 7th while somehow here it's the opposite way. Do U(knome)? yes...or no 05:32, 18 March 2013 (UTC)
- Of course we Wihan Tan, Stigni, and Arthur7171 follow the official Serie A table. Please read our discussion above carefully. We made discussion because before the discussion began, many users arranged table by their own. After I figured out that head-to-head is applied when two or more teams have done home & away matches, I updates the rules of classification so everyone will know how to arrange the table properly based on Lega Serie A. Trust me, before this discussion began, I saw the worse. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 23:42, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
Inter Milan & AC Milan
[edit]- Who the hell changed the league table so that it says AC Milan and Inter Milan instead of Milan and Internazionale? This is a serious error and needs to be fixed. Italia2006 (talk) 20:26, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
- Sir Abul Ferguson (talk | contribs) did it. I have reverted back to Milan and Internazionale. — Wihan Tan (talk) at 10:29, 23 March 2013 (UTC)
Position by round for Pescara
[edit]Pescara is guaranteed position 20 for only rounds 35 and 36. If they win both games, they can reach position 19 with another win in round 37. However, they are still in relegation zone but I do not know how to make the pink color box for round 37 without inserting a position. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nayefjuve (talk • contribs) 07:22, 5 May 2013
- For pink color you can put an "r" for relegation, for group stage of CL a "c" and for play-off round a "p". Stigni (talk) 07:17, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
