Infobox
[edit]The infobox got removed and the following edit summary provided as justification for its removal: "infobox doesn't really provide any concise summary; just date, incumbent, winner and loser"
Providing the date, incumbent, winner and loser of an election sounds like a good summary to me. In addition, the infobox also provided a link to the current contest, and can provide a link to the previous leadership election when somebody writes that article. So all in all, these are useful things to have provided through an infobox, and I thus suggest that it be restored. Other than that, thank you for providing that edit summary; that's certainly much better than a bold measure without explanation. Schwede66 03:45, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- To me, the infobox in this article looked clunky. It provided a somewhat misleading summary of candidates (although it would be even more awkward to include 3 candidates...not sure), the NZ flag seemed inappropriate seeing as it is for an organisation (political party), rather than an official government office (Leader of the Opposition is a follow-on effect, not the purpose of the election). The 'party' parameter is compulsory in the infobox, which eats up more space and could be confusing to some readers (were there candidates from other parties contesting?). I do understand where you're coming from; infoboxes do provide a useful at-a-glance intake of information. I didn't really phrase my edit summary very well. Having said this, I don't feel strongly about the issue, and won't object if someone re-adds the infobox. Adabow (talk) 03:55, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
- I think it should be restored - it does add to the article. I've fixed the flag issue by creating a template for the NZLP as a country. --LJ Holden 01:27, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
- It looks really good now. Thanks, LJ. Adabow (talk) 01:41, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
