closest race

Presumably the quote "probably the closest finish in Melbourne Cup history" came from the race commentators??? Zarkme (talk) 04:26, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes - I wrote it down as they said it from the TV commentary. I believe it was during the interview with the jockey immediately after the race. It was a quote at the time, but I'm sure if we wait until tomorrow morning's newspapers we'll be able to cite that quote (or a quote very similar to it) with several footnotes.
