Inclusion of Cert denials?

[edit]

Should her dissents from the petitions to grant cert really be included? They aren't really 'opinions' in the real sense of its meaning. Lord Roem (talk) 05:53, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes they are; they are "opinions relating to orders", according to the Court itself. Why would you think otherwise? postdlf (talk) 15:26, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was under the impression that they weren't actually opinions in that same sense. Apologies. Lord Roem (talk) 15:50, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My wrong impression came from this page [1] which did not include all opinions. Lord Roem (talk) 04:42, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Only eight cases are listed there because they're only listing the majority opinions (i.e., opinions of the Court) that Sotomayor authored, though regardless it just describes it as "cases for which there is a SCOTUSblog Case Page." Look instead to this list's reference section, which has three links to the Supreme Court's own website. postdlf (talk) 05:02, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I got it now. Sorry for the confusion. Lord Roem (talk) 05:04, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
