I've gone through the article making several copyedits, including adding {{quote}} for a particularly-long quote as the Manual of Style recommends. In my mind this article will be ready for good article status once the below two issues are resolved:

• Columbus Crew section—could you better explain or at least link "half-volley"?
  • I've changed it to scored on a volley over the onrushing goalkeepper. Hopefully that's a bit clearer. I had "half-volley" in quotes because that's what was said in the article referenced. I think it reads better now though, so thanks for suggesting the change. --SkotyWA^T_C 01:09, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
• "A year after some controversy surrounding the bidding process to host the 2009 U.S. Open Cup Final..." this could use a better source, and some clarification as to the nature of the controversy. AOL Fanhouse is not reliable.
  • I'm pretty sure AOL Fanhouse is a reputable source (at least as reputable as ESPN.com or sports.yahoo.com), but this one was easy to find another source for. The article covering the previous year's Open Cup goes into much more detail about what happened. Thanks again for the suggestion.
