Initial Presidents cup tournement format has lead to quarter finals being incorrectly placed. Needs to be corrected. Delusion23 (talk) 11:37, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Challenge Cup

[edit]

Thinking that the challenge cup section should be its own article, the same way that the Isthmian League wiki article is structured. Any thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Delusion23 (talkcontribs) 22:32, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think that's a good idea, as this article is already quite long with all the three tables and play-offs, maps etc. The Isthmian one works fine so it would work for the NPL cups too. Maybe all the northern Cups could go into a new article. Bretonbanquet (talk) 01:11, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Cool sorted it, I've put the Challenge Cup into its own article. Will probably do the same thing with the President's Cup eventually. The other two are one off matches so maybe it'd be best for them to stay on the main article? Hopefully this will all help make future seasons a whole lot easier to organise. At this rate the non league articles will actually be of a higher quality than the corresponding league articles :D Delusion23 (talk) 03:12, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Nice work! That should make everything a bit clearer and easier to find for those people interested in the Cup, and easy to create next year's articles and so on. I agree that the two one-off Cup matches should stay in the league article. Also great work on adding the top scorers and such to the NPL article - it's really good extra info. I reckon we could make the non-league articles every bit as good as the league ones, if not better. Just because the football is supposedly inferior, doesn't mean the articles have to be! First Round tie missing?

[edit]

I may be wrong, but I think there's a First Round tie missing (there are only 19 listed which wouldn't give the 20 teams listed in the Second Round). I think it may be Woodley Sports 5, Salford City 1 ? Reg porter (talk) 09:58, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out. I've added the missing tie. Did the whole article in one go so not surprising I missed one out :) Delusion23 (talk) 11:05, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pitchero ref is spam

[edit]

This article has a ref-link to a Pitchero page. It's basically link spam; an independent source would be better. wcrosbie (talk), Melbourne, Australia 07:02, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You mean the official league website? Perhaps you can explain what you mean. Bretonbanquet (talk) 12:08, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NPL cup competitions PROD

[edit]

Just to alert people to the fact that the cup competitions for this season's NPL have been proposed for deletion (i.e. 2010–11 Northern Premier League Challenge Cup and 2010–11 Northern Premier League President's Cup). I'll be trying to prevent this from happening, but if it is decided that they should be deleted I may see if there is any support for these 2 articles to be merged with this article seeing as there's a lot of info in them and they were originally here before they were given their own pages. Thanks. Delusion23 (talk) 20:01, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It would be worth removing the PROD from those articles, and then the proposer will have to take it to AfD, where we can have a proper discussion - keep/merge etc. Otherwise the articles will just disappear in 7 days :/ Bretonbanquet (talk) 00:44, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea, will do. Just adding some more references to show how many widespread sources can be used for the article before it goes to discussion. Got until the 6th of March before they need to be removed. Cheers. Delusion23 (talk) 13:51, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chairman/Peter Swales Removed

[edit]

I removed them. Apparently Halifax are playing Ashton at the start of next season under a new Evostik Trophy event. Possibilly a sponsors agreement saw the end of the prior 2 events (Barwell being a Southern League Club now as well) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.104.1.193 (talk) 22:14, 20 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
