Welcome!

[edit]

I wanted to get this page going, but I've never created a page before. Please feel free to edit this as much as needed, categorize it, etc.. It would be great to get tables in here with the dates, results, etc., in the same format as other football competitions. More details on the teams and their badges would be awesome too...I just don't know how to do all that stuff. Help us all out and contribute away! Thanks to everyone in advance!!!--Scottymoze (talk) 01:18, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fixtures

[edit]

I added this in but my times may be incorrect...I went off of the StubHub schedule for tickets. Please edit as needed. Also not sure what order to put the teams (ie: Team A v. Team B, or Team B v. Team A) so I did the StubHub order.--Scottymoze (talk) 18:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I verified times on another link, and put the teams in alphabetical where we have "Team A v. Team B."--Scottymoze (talk) 19:28, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Updated Club Names

[edit]

Saw the updated names which look great. I re-alphabetized them based on the new names.--Scottymoze (talk) 22:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rename to the 2009 World Football Challenge?

[edit]

Should we name this year's competition to "2009 World Football Challenge"? Seeing that the logo does incorporate the year into it, it probably means that this year's competition isn't the only one; the organisers of the World Football Challenge will hold their competition in the coming years. So doesn't that also mean we should make a separate article for the "World Football Challenge" that would summarise the competition, like UEFA Champions League as opposed to UEFA Champions League 2009-10? 69.255.16.132 (talk) 16:13, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should rename it, but we shouldn't create a separate article just yet. If they organize again next year, then we should create a different one, otherwise, the World Football Challenge article will be just like the page we have now except with chunks missing. Major sports networks like ESPN and FSC are simply calling it the "World Football Challenge" and not the "2009 World Football Challenge"--Scottymoze (talk) 03:52, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
ESPN and FSC are just calling it that I guess because they don't know there will be another one next year. But ESPN did mention that Chelsea will be the 'first name inscribed' into the World Football Challenge trophy-plate. So they'll probably have more. 69.255.16.132 (talk) 02:15, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I renamed in 2011 :-) NickSt (talk) 09:11, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
