Most losses in a season claim untrue??

I was just reading the Gerald Ford article and it said Michigan only won 1 game in 1934. There's no references though. Maybe the "most losses in a season for 2008" claim is wrong???????!!!!!!!!!!!TomCat4680 (talk) 12:07, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

As I recall, the Wolverines only played eight games that season, leading to only seven losses. 24.192.130.241 (talk) 05:26, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

So how is 3-9 worse than 1-7? TomCat4680 (talk) 17:55, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Worst by losses. 9 losses in 08, 7 losses in 34. Malinaccier (talk) 15:16, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Clean up?

Does anybody else feel that perhaps putting the reason for McGuffie's transfer (family issues) in the sentence about it would be a good idea? And perhaps changing the format of the schedule from it's original article to a bit more legible?24.192.130.241 (talk) 05:28, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

I think its pretty clear already, but should we start a chart for it like previous season's schedules, or is it too early for that?TomCat4680 (talk) 14:25, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
I had already made both edits by the time you had responded, so the chart was clear because I changed it. But I think we should just hold off on a chart until the last non-conference game is determined. 24.192.130.241 (talk) 20:26, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Well the last non-conference game was announced a couple of weeks ago. So I started the schedule chart.TomCat4680 (talk) 21:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Lead section

"The team will attempt to rebound from its worst season in its 130 year football history. " -I deleted this entry as it does not coincide with the rest of the introductory facts about the Michigan 2009 team. This comment is also not factual, a reference to loss record may be factual but "worst season" could be descriptive of a number of seasons. If something referencing the 2008 season is to be included, it should be located lower in the article. ~Bosleybin

I disagree. It was the most losses in a season in the football program's history and should be in the lead. Why do you think it isn't factual? TomCat4680 (talk) 23:31, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

I think that the voice sounds too negative and not factual. As I said, worst means many things, if you want to talk about most losses, then talk about most losses. ~Bosleybin

It IS factual. Do you have proof it isn't? Its not an opinion, its a fact that they've never lost 9 games in season before 2008. I added loss wise to the sentence. Stop removing it until a consensus is reached. TomCat4680 (talk) 23:53, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Rankings

Are we using Coaches poll or AP poll? The chart on the side with the standings says AP but on the schedule it says Coaches. Which is it? I'm confused. TomCat4680 (talk) 20:13, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

People always try to put the higher ranking to make it look good. However all teams really should use the same poll.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 06:21, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Statistical leaders

Feel free to help me keep Greg Mathews' position up to date at Lists of Michigan Wolverines football statistical leaders. He should break into the top 25 in career yardage this week.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 06:20, 22 October 2009 (UTC)

Winless on the road

Is this the first season that the Wolverines have failed to win even one game on the road? MMetro (talk) 19:07, 21 November 2009 (UTC)

It is not. The Wolverines last went winless on the road in 1962. See here: http://bentley.umich.edu/athdept/football/misc/fbrecord.htm. Jweiss11 (talk) 04:30, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
