Super Eights ODI status

[edit]

I just looked up Cricinfo for an update on the Kenya vs Canada score and was surprised that it's only a List A match, not ODI. Anyone know why that is? Both teams have ODI status, the ground has been passed fit to host ODI cricket and both teams are fielding 11 players. Contrary to what is stated in the infobox, are the Super Eight matches not going to be ODIs? Jevansen (talk) 10:13, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Officially, all six teams lost their ODI status at the end of the first round, so no Super 8 games will be ODIs. Andrew nixon (talk) 11:01, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, well there you go .... can't quite understand why the ICC would do it this way though. I suppose maybe it's due to scheduling because unlike in the initial rounds they couldn't pre-meditate who would be playing who. Thanks Andrew. Jevansen (talk) 12:20, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
