The reason South Africa has qualified

[edit]

South Africa have qualified as one of the three best 2nd place teams: The 2nd place team in Group 9 will have either 9 or 10 points because Mali and Togo play each other on the last day, they won't have enough to get to the top 3 in the second place table. The 2nd place in Group 8 could overtake Uganda and South Africa in the second place table, leaving South Africa as the 3rd best second place team, but no others can overtake them. They have therefore qualified already. - MTC 17:51, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Benin (Group 9)

[edit]

Just check what if Benin win last match.

For Example: Benin win over Sierra Leone. Togo win over Mali OR Mali win over Togo. Guinea win over Cape Verde. Algeria win over Gambia. Then Goal difference decides. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.34.211.132 (talk) 18:33, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see that now. However, since those messages Gambia have won 2-1 against Algeria, making it sure that South Africa have qualified. - MTC 19:01, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
