Registration of Republic E170

[edit]

The registration given for the Republic E170 involved in this incident appears to be incorrect. The FAA registry lists N757AT as a Boeing 757 belonging to Delta. The preliminary report contradicts itself, giving this registration in the body and N872RW in the header. As N872RW is indeed an Embraer 170 belonging to Republic, I'm changing the registration in the article. -- Hawaiian717 18:57, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

I am not seeing how this not-crash meets the the Wikipedia is not a newspaper policy in that there is no enduring notability in this event. The relevant guideline is WP:EVENT and that says

  • the event should be a "precedent or catalyst for something else of lasting significance", none is apparent from the article or sources ;
  • that they usually have "significant impact over a wide region, domain, or widespread societal group" again none is apparent from the article or sources;
  • also "Notable events usually receive coverage beyond a relatively short news cycle." all of the sources are from within a month of the incident so no on going coverage.

I have added the notability > events maintenance template to see if more sources can be found. LGA talkedits 08:57, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's 2016 and the NTSB still mentions this crash in the Most Wanted Safety Improvements List. I removed the "notability" maintenance template, after adding mention of this to the article. Shelbystripes (talk) 05:37, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
