Format and merge suggestion

[edit]

This article needs an appropriate lead paragraph. The current format, beginning with a section title indicates that the Berlin 2006 cancellation was only one of of several controversies about the opera and that the article is incomplete. If it is only about the Berlin 2006 cancellations, then the material should probably be merged into Idomeneo Voceditenore (talk) 14:32, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To be brutally frank, I think this article has more to do with religious fundamentalism or fundamentalist atheism than opera, and find it really hard to see why something so minor on a scale of - how long has it been now since Mozart wrote the opera? - 230 years needs to be included in the "main" Idomeneo article. Not that I want to put anyone off writing some more on the subject, you understand. But here, not there. Otherwise, by way of example, I think we'd have to include what Richard Strauss did to Idomeneo, and many other things as well. Thanks, Safebreaker (talk) 17:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Daily Mail link doesn't come up sensibly for me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.89.132.246 (talk) 17:17, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially Violent Muslims

[edit]

I think this line in the article is distracting to people new to followers of Islam. Does the article hold all Muslims violent in whole? Please rectify this! Indusengineer (talk) 19:35, 14 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that line is a fair summary of Merkel's comment, as reported in the source. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 07:25, 15 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
