Where is the Apicorp Compound

[edit]

As a child I spent many years living on the Apicorp Compound - this was during the relativly safe 80's. I tried to find it the other day on Google Maps and could not see it. I wonder if it has been 'erased' from the map? I know that the Apicorp Compound is slightly closer to Al-Khobar than it is to Al-Damam. I know that it is on the coast (it was within a short walk from the sea) and that the Corniche (coastal road) ran along both of the main security gates of the compound.

The compound is (or was) architecturally significant - it was one of Norman Fosters first international comissions. It's distinctive curved A-Frame building built around a large park-land including a raised circular pool. There's also a set of villas with flat-roofs and a huge CEO's villa in one corner. --Salimfadhley (talk) 12:55, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Apicorp Offices were infiltrated

[edit]

The Apicorp offices were infiltrated and shots fired. Office worked fled to the roof. At least one person was shot and wounded in his foot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.116.219.113 (talk) 07:24, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"13 attackers were captured or killed"?

[edit]

I am going through the sources i.e. news article on the attack. All but one mention 4 attackers, one of whom was arrested, three escaped. The one article that talks about there being more than four attackers and security successfully killing any attackers is a personal blog by one Tim Blair -- http://timblair.spleenville.com/archives/006913.php Khbar: An Insider's Story, (At least I think it is a personal blog, there is no "about me" that I could find.) (This is not Tim Blair the Australian conservative.) This does not seem to be WP:RS and I'm going to delete it.

This is a serious error, as a major part of the story is that four terrorists killed 22 people at a very leisurely rate, unhindered by security until the end when most of the killers escaped. --BoogaLouie (talk) 19:53, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
