[edit]"This draft is also known for the Detroit Pistons making one of the worst moves in draft history, when they had the second pick of the draft and selected Darko Milicic (who would later be traded) over a field that included Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Chris Kaman, Kirk Hinrich, T.J. Ford, Boris Diaw, Josh Howard and Leandro Barbosa.[5]" Saying that Pistons made "one of the worst moves in draft history" by selecting Milicic would be wrong, since we don't know what would have happened if Pistons chose to play Milicic more often. Also it really undermines Milicic's abilities, and makes him sound like a draft bust, which he clearly isn't, as witnessed in his strong perfomance with Magic. I suggest rephrasing the statement in order to avoid doing that.
- I have reworded it (changing "worst move in history" into "controversial") and shortened the list to just "Carmelo Anthony and other prospects," because at the time, the entire debate about the #2 pick was between Milicic and Anthony. None of those other guys was ever brought up at the time the pick was made. When talking about the 1984 Draft, you don't say, "Portland drafted Bowie over Jordan, Barkley, Perkins and 15 other guys;" you just say "Portland drafted Bowie over Jordan." 206.135.142.245 21:54, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Starters
[edit]in the 3rd footnote, the omission of Banks, Bonner, Bogans, and Hayes from the list of "starters" should be addressed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Klasovsky (talk • contribs) 17:40, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
Lebron and Bosh move
[edit]I went ahead and deleted three lines about Chris Bosh and Lebron James moving to the Miami Heat prior to the 2010-2011 season. The information is correct, as is the fact that Lebron is the first MVP incumbent to change teams since Moses Malone, I just fail to see how any of that is relevant for this article. Obviously that information should be in each player's bio article, but for an article that is just on the 2003 draft, that players eventually left is irrelevant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jdlund (talk • contribs) 06:31, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
2003 and the foreign players
[edit]The 2003 draft was the draft with the most foreign (non American born) players. It beat the 2004 draft by one. The 2004 NBA draft had 20 foreign players drafted. 8 of which were picked in the 1st round and the other 12 in the second round. 2003 had 21 foreign players 9 picked in the 1st round and 12 in the second.
