Lead
O'Sullivan made the highest break of the competition of 134 in his semi-final victory over Williams.
— This doesn't appear to be in the body of the article.
Background
one of the first of the season.
— traditionally one of the first of the season, or it just happened to be one of the first in 2001–02?Any player who withdrew would be replaced by a reserve
— How were reserves determined?- There are no further details MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Perhaps add in the first sentence that one spot was filled via a qualifying competition.
John Higgins, Scotland's highest-ranked player
— Suggest "John Higgins, Scotland's highest-ranked player and the world's number ##"- By the time I got to "Round 1" I still had no idea who the players were, who was favored, etc. Perhaps the players who qualified by being in the top 8 could be listed somewhere along with their ranking, and the seeds for the tournament bracket could be added?
- Added MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- John Higgins and Mark Williams are both listed as three seeds. --Usernameunique (talk) 09:42, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Prize fund
Highest break (×1): £5,000
— What does the "×1" mean?- It means that one person could earn the prize monies available
- Which source is used for the highest break amount? --Usernameunique (talk) 09:44, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

- Which source is used for the highest break amount? --Usernameunique (talk) 09:44, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- It means that one person could earn the prize monies available
Total: £200,000
— Did all 12 players win some of this?- Yes, but am unable to find other amounts MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Round 1
ranking event winner
— What's a ranking event?- Added wikilink MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Frank Callan
— Who's this, just a random coach? Worth a red link?- Clarified and no red link would be appropriate MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Semi-finals
Williams was required to pot the pink ball from a long distance to tie the match at 2–2; it was left on the edge of a top corner pocket.
— This probably belongs before the sentence about who won.
Final
It was the first time since the 2000 Grand Prix that O'Sullivan had been defeated in a tournament final.
— How many tournaments ago was that?- Added months instead MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Any word on when Higgins's child was born?
Qualifying
- Is there enough in the sources to add information about the matches that goes beyond the bracket?
- Not particularly and it's not the standard in WikiProject Snooker to add every detail about a tournament's qualifying matches, except for maximum breaks or unusual events. MWright96 (talk) 09:29, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
