On looking at the individual race pages for Grand Nationals, they are all of similar style but not the same. This is very untidy when compared to Formula One Motor Racing's style of presentation. Having looked at all the years covered, 1990 is the best presented and I am going to commence modifying the other years to suit it's style.Captainbeecher (talk) 09:32, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the point of them anyway. In the 1989 Grand National we have Little Polveir shown with a Northern Ireland flag - he was bred there, sure, but horses don't have "nationality" as such - and Toby Balding marked with the flag of the United States. Balding was born in the United States but I'd be hard-pressed to describe him as American and at the time of the 1989 National he'd lived and trained in the UK for basically his whole life. I can't see how these icons would add to anyone's knowledge of the race. I do like the idea of a uniform format across the years though and I think the work that Captainbeecher, TBM10 and others have put in is excellent and has made these articles look very good. --Bcp67 (talk) 18:46, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that aligning the individual race articles into a common layout would be a good idea. Along with the rest of you I have invested a huge number of hours into the Grand National articles so this suggestion is welcome. What do you think about the layout of the most recent years' articles, like 2013 Grand National as a basis for a common style? --TBM10 (talk) 20:36, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
