Lead section has extra information

I tagged this article as needing clean-up because the lead section has extra information about the date of the attack that is not in the body of the article. See MOS:LEAD for purpose of the lead. It provides an accessible overview and summary of the whole article, it does introduce the rest of the article, and an article should be able to stand alone without it. The lead section is not like a newspaper lede because Wikipedia is not a news website.
