Cañizares/Rivero v Kite/Peete
[edit]Some confusion here as to whether Cañizares/Rivero won 7&5 or 4&3. 7&5 often quoted as biggest victory for Europe. See: List of Ryder Cup records#Europe 3. Also ref 1 here "McDermott, Barry (September 23, 1985). "The Empire Strikes Back". Sports Illustrated: 44." says "Then there was Spain's Jose-Maria Canizares, another mystery name, 38 years old, who was teamed with the equally unfamiliar Jose Rivero, a Spanish club pro—if you can believe it—for much of his career. On Saturday, when all sorts of misfortunes befell Team U.S.A., these guys destroyed America's leadoff team of Tom Kite and Calvin Peete by the embarrassing score of 7 and 5." I know other sources do say 4&3 but I'm inclined to think that 7&5 is probably correct and have changed it accordingly. Nigej (talk) 07:10, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
