Inaccuracies

[edit]

The Constructors' table needs sorting. Toleman is listed twice, for example. Adrian M. H. 19:02, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who finished 9th in the 1984 French Grand Prix? According to one edit, it was Teo, but according to Formula1.com, it was Correio. –Fred Bradstadt (talk) 23:07, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Autocourse 1984/85 and Henry's "Brabham The Grand Prix Cars" both say it was Teo. Autocourse specifically mentions Monaco as being Corrado's first race for the team. Likewise, it was Teo who drove in the British Grand Prix. DH85868993 (talk) 00:05, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Test Drivers

[edit]

The test driver column is pointless. It seems to be a wrong-headed attempt to retroactively apply the modern "Official Test Driver" post back to older seasons when few teams had one. IIRC Roberto Moreno and Jonathan Palmer were contracted test drivers for Lotus and Williams for at least part of the season, while Jo Gartner's contract with Osella for the first half of the year was as Test & Reserve driver.

Conversely, Emerson Fittipaldi might have tested the Spirit, but it was not as a test driver, it was with a view to the race seat. So if this column is just a list of people who happen to have done a few laps in the car ahead of the season, where are the half-dozen drivers who tried out for the second Brabham seat? Where's Fulvio Ballabio, who did more laps in the Spirit than Fittipaldi ever did, but was never the test driver because he, also, was trying out for a race seat? Where's Philippe Streiff, who did have a testing contract with Renault (but did little testing due to their new drivers hogging the seat time)?

This column, and the one on most of these articles before about 1993 when more than a couple of teams actively started signing test drivers on annual contracts instead of just rounding up some out of work driver, needs looking at so it's not misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.62.199 (talk) 20:46, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. --Falcadore (talk) 23:05, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tyrrell Results

[edit]

We get it that Tyrrell was disqualified. Would it be possible to show the original results with an asterisk? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chelsea Moscow (talkcontribs) 23:34, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The purpose of disqualification is that their results are erased, as though they did not take part in the race at all, so displaying the "original" results creates a false impression. The best place for that is on the individual race reports rather than in the season summary. --Falcadore (talk) 01:07, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Date/Sequence of Races

[edit]

Are these right? And watching the BBC Highlights shows right now, and San Marino was AFTER Belgium, was it not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.93.92.84 (talk) 18:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed You are correct. Thanks for pointing out the error. DH85868993 (talk) 09:35, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
