[edit]Essayist Christopher Hitchens argues that the purge was the watershed moment in which Hussein became supreme leader of Iraq, comparable to the Night of the Long Knives in Nazi Germany or the murder of Sergey Kirov, culminating in the Great Purge in the Soviet Union. Sources 3 and 4 do not prove that the executions were carried out by the surviving party members as stated in the article. Source 3 does not cover it at all, and source 4 only says that members of the party formed the execution teams. Is there any more information on the subject? 2A0A:A541:97D9:0:5012:6B01:AA90:7EE3 (talk) 15:34, 10 January 2021 (UTC)
Execution later
[edit]It is wrongly implied the accused people were executed the same day, e.g. "Names of people were announced and they were taken outside the hall to be executed." In actuality sentencing of 22 men happened 7th August and execution of 21 men the next day 8th August. 2001:14BA:500D:8E00:3A2C:4AFF:FEB9:EAA (talk) 14:12, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
