Quarterfinals
[edit]Despite the fact that the quarterfinals are not considered part of the tournament proper, would anyone be opposed to including the four losing quarterfinalists on this page? Libro0 (talk) 20:28, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- For me it's ok. --necronudist (talk) 20:46, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- What are the sources you have? I do have some reservations for this, since the quarterfinals are not really tournament proper. Chanheigeorge (talk) 20:55, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
The truth is many of the sources would be the same as for the world cup. By 1960 there is far better documentation especially for the countries involved which is why my suggestion is not for anything beyond the quarterfinals. The main article includes all of the rounds however. The reason I think it would be easy is it is just the roster for one or two games. It should not be too hard to find. In fact Spain does not even need to be included since they did not play in the round. Libro0 (talk) 21:22, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- How about players for the semifinalists, those that played in the quarterfinals, but did not travel to the tournament proper? I remember removing some of those previously. I'm tentatively okay with your additions, as long as:
- It's made clear the four losing quarterfinalists did not play in the tournament proper.
- It's made clear that the players I mentioned above did not participate in the tournament proper.
And please include your sources in the article. Chanheigeorge (talk) 21:49, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, it would be interesting to add quarterfinalists squads. And I agree with Chanheigeorge's criteria: we will need to disanbiguate the articles a little.Let's do this.--Latouffedisco (talk) 09:16, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- I added three players to both Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia that appear to have been unused reserves according to two sources. One(Yug , Cze) and Two(here). My guess is that most other sources do not list the reserves unless they were used. Any other players I added were from the quarterfinals as indicated. Libro0 (talk) 19:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Don't seem so reliable to me. However, good job. --necronudist (talk) 19:32, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yugoslavian players are confirmed here and here.--Latouffedisco (talk) 20:24, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
