As was well known at the time, the referendum was rigged. Although there is no doubt that Nasser won a majority, the actual figure was massively inflated to suggest the verdict was unanimous. This should be mentioned in the introduction. (92.11.204.9 :(talk) 17:29, 10 January 2014 (UTC))[reply]
