"Second Strongest"?

"The earthquake is the second largest known in New York's recorded history." So what was the strongest? Apparently NOT the recent (2011 August) 5.8, since that is said to be the strongest SINCE 1944. CFLeon (talk) 01:44, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I can find no evidence of another larger earthquake, so I've modified the sentence and added a source for that statement. Mikenorton (talk) 15:55, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
