[edit]"The league also, for reasons unexplained, removed all five of the black players then playing top-level pro football from the league, including future Hall of Famer Fritz Pollard."
Is there a citation for this? The league went from five to zero black players, but I'm not aware of any evidence (or claim for that matter) that the league itself conducted a purge. The return of black players in 1928 suggests otherwise.
There is an obvious alternative explanation: 60% of the NFL and AFL franchises from 1926 collapsed before the start of the 1927 season. Fewer teams == fewer players == fewer black players.
If this line comes back, it should come with a citation.50.14.78.218 (talk) 18:51, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Also, I'm not so sure that the characterization of the ten lost failed franchises (as being deliberately pruned by the NFL) is accurate. But I'll leave that to somebody more knowledgeable to correct. 50.14.78.218 (talk) 19:00, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]The image map that shows where the teams are located has the Eskimo's in the wrong location as well as the wrong country. They were located in Duluth, Minnesota, not somewhere up in Canada 96.241.126.28 (talk) 23:00, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
