Kerosene role

[edit]

Both the delousing shampoo and the body liquid soap uses kerosene. I’m assuming this use is similar to the current use of coal tar in delousing shampoos. An explanatory note could help show that it was, by then, believe to be a useful delousing agent.

Useful references are:

(about the "similar practices": border showers deserve its own article. As far as I can tell it happened not just in the US-Mex border, but also in Israel with Jews arriving from Iraq — with DDT, which at least doesn’t burn.) Artoria2e5 🌉 13:01, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Aha, Eric Lotze also asked for a broader article on the border practice. Maybe it really needs to be written! Artoria2e5 🌉 13:03, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Possible Improvement

[edit]

I wanted to make a simple observation on the overall flow of the article. When reading it, the context provided in the "Background" section seemed sort of disconnected from the 1917 bath riots. Would there be a better way to integrate this information? Arb1021 (talk) 20:13, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
