"PEPPERS", not "PEPPER"

[edit]

This page was created because the original page (which itself should be deleted) erroneously calls the team the "Newark Pepper" (singular) as opposed to "Peppers" (plural).

The mistake is the fault of Baseball-Reference.Com, which shows the team name as singular. No contemporaneous newspaper report (including The Sporting News) shows it as anything but a plural name, and all baseball encyclopedias (including Turkin-Thompson, McMillan, and Total Baseball) show the name plural.

I've sent a correction to Baseball-Reference.com, but to date they have not responded. -- Couillaud (talk) 17:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's what this is about, all of the Newark pages and categories are being moved to the plurals, but 1915 season cannot be moved here until this page is deleted (it is a c&p of the other page which violates the copyright of WP regarding the page histories). Once this page is deleted for maintenance reasons, the page move can be completed without losing the page history. You also c&p moved Newark Peppers, which had to be cleaned up in this manner as well. Please do not do c&p moves any more. Rgrds. 64.85.214.196 (talk) 18:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. Delete away. -- Couillaud (talk) 18:54, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
