Almaty

What is the Wikipedia policy on names of places that have changed since the event involved? I thought the policy was to give the then-current name with the present name in parentheses. At the time of the earthquake, Almaty was called Verniy. Kdammers (talk) 15:26, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kaindy landslide and Its Aftermath

No mention is made of the Kaindy landslide also forming a natural dam on the Kaindy River and forming Lake Kaindy with its sunken forest, see: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Lake_Kaindy.
