First elected MP

Hugh Carleton was the first MP elected, but he was not elected, as he was unopposed. Elections only occur where there is more than one candidate! He was selected as an MP.203.184.41.226 (talk) 08:20, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The commonly accepted terminology for such a case is to have been "elected unopposed". Schwede66 22:43, 15 July 2012 (UTC)r[reply]
