24-May-2007: The format for the decade/year articles has evolved to include "Paintings" and "Sculpture" plus "Births" or "Deaths" but is not formalized. In May 2007, the new navigation box template Year_nav_topic2 was created and provides a 20-year span for articles of a given topic, such as 15xx_in_art. -Wikid7703:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
24-May-2007: Even though Leonardo da Vinci was born in 1452 and painted several works in the 1490s, the various "14xx_in_art" articles were tedious to expand, perhaps because having 100 separate yearly articles, rather than the current 10 decade articles (such as "1450s_in_art"), had required too much editing. Several people had expanded about 15 yearly articles each, but apparently lost interest for the task of expanding the potential array of 100 yearly articles to cover all 1400-1499_in_art. Some yearly articles had existed for almost 4 years (such as "1455_in_art"); however, the contents were still limited to just a few entries per year 14xx in art. Hopefully, the condensing of the 14xx_in_art articles to just the current 10 condensed decade articles will simplify future updates to expand art information. -Wikid7703:51, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
