Penetration: 380 mm at 0 degrees @ 2000 m, 200 mm at 60 degrees @ 2000 m,

The at sign (@) is used for prices of groceries and in email addresses, but not as a general abbreviation for "at". Should this be changed to "Penetration: 380 mm at 0° at 2000 m, 200 mm at 60° at 2000 m"? Michael Z. 2006-07-26 15:49 Z

Sure - when I created the page a long time ago, I hadn't yet seen the light of the MoS. Megapixie 22:20, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Rounds" is used for counting a supply of ammunition, like head of cattle. This title ought to be 125 mm smoothbore ammunition. Any objection to the move? Michael Z. 2006-09-26 03:12 Z

None what so ever. Megapixie 07:33, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is far closer to a list than an article.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:11, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move proposal to "List of 125 mm smoothbore ammunition"

[edit]

I suggest this page be moved to the above title, as this appears to be a list, rather than a general article. As such, I would also suggest an general article titled "125 mm caliber" (or similar) also be created. If this page isn't meant be just a list, please just say so, and we can all then work to improve it. Many thanks, RadiculousJ (talk) 06:48, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

About penetration value measurement standard

[edit]

I read some people state the 50% in NATO standard means "50% of the penetrator length should go through" instead of "penetration probability of 50%". Is this real and any solid source? To me, the probability one makes more sense since "According to authorities like Paul Lakowski, the difference in performance can reach as much as 8%". I don't know who is Paul Lakowski. But according to SPH simulations, penetration value is proportional to the length of penetrator, thus the difference should be as much as 0.8/0.5-1 = 60%.
