Two articles covering same unit?

[edit]

The 180th Fighter Wing is a larger unit that includes a variety of ground support units, but unlike many other fighter wings it only contains ONE flying squadron - this one, the 112th FS (for many years previously the 112th TFS).

Consequently there is considerable overlap between the two articles, so maybe this article should be incorporated within the 180th FW? Facing facts, most enquiries on Wikipedia will focus on the flying squadron(s) and the aircraft used, not the subsidiary units.

There should also be more recognition of the 112th TFS. The 112th has borne many names throughout its existence, with 112th (something) getting 69 hits within this article, but only five are related to TFS or Tactical Fighter Squadron, which existed from 1958 until 1992. Whereas some of the many unit designations existed barely long enough for the ink to dry, it is as if the entire 1960's, 70's and 80's never happened.
