New lead
[edit]I rewrote the lead-in and in doing so removed the motto and the reputation. This may seem harsh, however according to my references (Vane and Ward) the motto belonged to the 68th regiment, and the reputation to the (ironically) 2nd DLI. The confusion comes from the old reference which is an enthusiastically written immediate post WW2 newspaper article, which is a little hazy on the fine historical details.
