Redundant / plain wrong
[edit]"太" isn't "ō", and "太刀" is pronounced "tachi". There's already an article: tachi.
This article (the "Ōkatana" one, I mean) shouldn't even exist, really. 88.161.129.43 (talk) 23:19, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- I concur with the above. The combination of kanji "Ō" and "katana" is "大刀", but that is read "taitou"/"daitou" (often missread as "Daikatana", for which there is already an article: Daikatana (sword)). So, delete or merge with tachi? --Hecko (talk) 01:24, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
- There isn't much to merge... And I really don't know where that "ōkatana" reading comes from, so I'm not sure it's notable enough to be mentioned in the tachi article. I'm all for the deletion of this article, myself. 88.161.129.43 (talk) 02:43, 28 June 2008 (UTC)
There is absolutely no factual basis for this article. It has no place in an encyclopaedia. "Oh-katana" is neither a Japanese word nor a type of sword. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.195.84.237 (talk) 00:53, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
