Unless someone has objections, I'll probably go ahead and try to delete this article as non-notable early next year. While he's published a lot of opinion pieces, I can't find any reliable non-trivial secondary sources about Toussaint as we would need for a neutral article.

To paraphrase my understanding of WP:BIO, he must meet at least one of these five criteria to have a biography here:

  • The person has received significant coverage in multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject
  • The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times
  • The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field
  • The person has an entry in the Dictionary of National Biography or similar publication
  • The person has unusually prestigious academic credentials meeting WP:PROF

If someone has evidence he meets one of these five criteria or otherwise qualifies for WP:BIO, please post to this thread. Rolf H Nelson (talk) 01:16, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

hi, Rolf H Nelson (talk) isn't this paragraph of the article about at least 2 of these five? (I'll copypaste: Toussaint took part in Ecuador’s Debt Audit Commission (Comisión para la Auditoria Integral de la Deuda Pública -CAIC), created by the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, that sat in 2007.[7] In the same year he advised the President and the Minister of Finance of Ecuador on the creation of a "Bank of the South".[8] The following year he was consulted as an expert on the same matter by the UN. Also in 2008 the Paraguayan President, Fernando Lugo, called on his experience to launch a debt audit for Paraguay.[9][10] In 2008 he also advised the Venezuelan Minister for Economic Development and Planning.[11]

In September 2010 Toussaint spoke in New York at a UN Special Assembly to assess progress on the Millennium Development Goals.[12]

And, I just googled him + Clarin (a center-right wing newspaper, and the most important of Argentina) and it appears several times (https://www.google.com.ar/search?client=firefox-b&dcr=0&ei=xLW6WuWmM4ObwQTfuIqQCQ&q=%C3%89ric+Toussaint+clarin&oq=%C3%89ric+Toussaint+clarin&gs_l=psy-ab.3..33i160k1l2.750.2188.0.2632.7.7.0.0.0.0.206.902.3j2j2.7.0....0...1c.1.64.psy-ab..0.7.902...0i22i30k1j0i22i10i30k1.0.WSSwgJhTZmQ). I didn't a more deep research, and I'm not really aware of his job; but at least a couple of these 5 criteris seems covered.
