Father

[edit]

Is elizabeth father a russian or a polish? 2806:102E:B:D6A2:CC44:188E:A667:7413 (talk) 04:33, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He was stateless and after 1950 French. Her grandfather was born in Łuków, then in Russian Poland, i.e. the part of Poland that was ruled by the Russian Empire until the First World War. This is probably the reason why some sources label him as Russian and some as Polish. The French "genealogy pope" Jean-Louis Beaucarnot describes her father as un juif d'origine russo-polonaise ("a Jew of Russian-Polish origin"). So, neither is erroneous. --RJFF (talk) 13:28, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Resignation

[edit]

Quick reminder: Borne and her entire government remain in office until Macron signs a decree ending their term. His “acceptation” of her resignation is simply a public statement that he is going to (but hasn’t yet). Keriluamox (talk) 17:29, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
