A few notes about EDF in Mexico. In Mexico, Central Anahuac is also known as Rio Bravo 2 and Central Lomas de Real (Not del Rey) as Rio Bravo 3. Rio Bravo 4 is Central Valle Hermoso and entered commercial service on April 1st 2005. All three power plants are in the same area. There is also an operation called Gasoducto del Rio. This operation supplies natural gas for the turbines to burn.

Comego and Cominse. There are also two other EDF companies in Mexico, Comego stands for Compañia Mexicana de Gerencia y Operacion and Cominse stands for Compañia Mexicana de Ingenieria y Servicios. Comego is responsible of the management and the operation of all EDF power plants in Mexico, and Cominse is responsible of the construction. Cominse will disappear in about one year; construction and tests of Rio 4 were finished in the early months of 2005. Cominse will support Comego with any guaranty issues that may arise.

Four employees will remain at Cominse:

Carlos Zarate, Eduardo Parra, Alejandrina Bustamante and Antonio Garcia.

Foreign ownership rules

I just wanted to flag up that there is an issue with the fact that the French EDF can wholly own formerly 'British' companies but that the contrary does not hold. Is this worth developing as a section?Antarmy 18:18, 7 October 2005 (UTC)

Needs an update!

The first section, major reform, needs to be majorly reformed. It talks about the French revolution, not EDF. "The French Revolution (1788–1799) was a period of political and social upheaval in the political history of France and Europe as a whole, during which the French governmental structure, previously an absolute monarchy with feudal privileges for the aristocracy and Catholic clergy, underwent radical change to forms based on Enlightenment principles of nationalism, citizenship, and inalienable rights." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.210.233.90 (talk) 12:16, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Specialty principle

The text should be corrected. This principle has nothing to do with fair on unfair competition. It's a general principle for public owned utilities : they can't commit public money in activities other than the ones they've been created for.

Just think to the situation back in 1946, nobody would have given a damn about fair on unfair competion, the issue was rebuilding and modernizing french industry.

This principle is not specific to edf but to the epic status, it disappeared as soon as edf was turned into a limited liability company.

World's largest utility company?

The article is suggesting, that EDF is the world's largest utility company (1st sentence). By what measure? The text implies that it is by revenue (€66.34 billion in 2009). But for instance german E.ON AG had a revenue of €81.82 billion in 2009. Maybe the measure taken was the overall generation capacity. Then the relevant figure should be stated right after the argument. This however would not be a figure suitable for comparing utility companies as they do not have to necessarily generate electrical power. Either way, this sentence should be revised as it is currently misleading. BTW - Even the French page is more cautious with such a claim: "L'entreprise est au deuxième rang mondial des groupes d'énergie derrière le russe Gazprom en termes de capitalisation boursière." -- 212.144.251.27 (talk) 09:04, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
