Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Recent additions

Moved from User talk:Mathglot § Translation from Çubuk, Ankara

Rodrigo Valequez, regarding the comment at my Talk page about your recent translations from the Turkish article, it looks like you've created a new Origin section, and expanded the History section. I don't know Turkish, so I can't comment on the accuracy of translation, but I'll do some copy editing in those two sections to fix some minor grammar or spelling issues, or just make it read smoother.

The main issue that needs to be addressed, is that the new additions have no references. I realize the original Turkish article doesn't have references in those sections either, but that's their problem; we don't make the rules at Turkish Wikipedia. Here, however, we need to adhere to the requirements of Verifiability policy, and part of that is the inclusion of citations to reliable sources. With your ability in Turkish, you are better placed than most to find some references, and add them; so if you can do that, that would be great. Mathglot (talk) 21:58, 8 February 2020 (UTC)

• ​I have a few questions Mathglot. You have marked some things that I need to clarify and I'm doing my best on it. My questions are:

1) You’ve marked "the transition zone of the Black Sea" but I'm not sure how to clarify it. It's the zone that's on the very edge of the Black Sea Region where the climate affects of the Black Sea decrease significantly, I translated it word-by-word from the Turkish article.

2) You marked "This is why remains from the Byzantine and Roman empires can be found.[clarify]" but I had given the reason of this in the sentence before: -the control of many civilizations, for example the Hattians, Hittites, Phrygians, Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans. This is why remains from the Byzantine and Roman empires can be found.

I'm adding 2 more references. I was going to add 25 but I decided to just put a link to the Turkish Statistical Institude instead of adding 24 links containing Çubuk's cencus data from 1965 to 2016 (Çubuk's cencus data is accessible from the website of the Turkish Statistical Institude.). Rodrigo Valequez, regarding adding one link vs 25 links: the key point here, is to consider how to ensure verifiability of the data. Normally, if you have 25 cities with population data, each on a different website, you would need 25 references. However, if there is one census page with a list of 25 cities, and the population data are on other pages linked from it (after, say, clicking the city name) then you could use a combination of a <ref> and an explantory footnote, to include the full citation of the main census page, including its url, even if there is no population data there, and then inside the paired <ref>...</ref> tags, add some text; something like: "note: individual city data available one click away by clicking the city name at this web page" or similar. Where this doesn't work well, is if only some of the cities are linked from that page, and others are not; then you might have to find another solution. Is this helpful?
