Oldest building?

[edit]

Several websites, such as http://www.ci.la.ca.us/ELP/elpdoh.htm and http://www.losangelestours.us/?event=offer.detail&offerId=6342, say that this is the oldest building in LA. The article makes a weaker claim that it's the oldest residence. Which is correct? 81.129.130.232 (talk) 12:42, 28 December 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Kitchen doubled as a bathing room

[edit]

In New York City there are many examples of this. In some very old buildings, the shower is right in the kitchen. Nowadays many kitchens still have a shower head on the ceiling. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.44.93.16 (talk) 20:28, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In New York City, in some very old buildings, the bath tub is in the center of the kitchen. (kitchen table...)

Chastina Rix (1881–1963), later known as Christine Sterling

[edit]

Christine Sterling has 30 references to the 20th century restoration, completed in 1930.

Christine Sterling did not name Olvera Street.

[edit]

I removed language stating that Sterling named Olvera Street. That name has been used since well back into the 1800s, although it was often misspellt or misprinted as "Olivera". Pithecanthropus4152 (talk) 04:09, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
