This category should not be used when the person can be correctly categorized in a sub-category of it, e.g. Category:Venezuelan classical violinists. Specific guidance about categorizing musicians is given at WP:MUSCAT under this heading – Articles should be placed into as specific of a category as possible, always favor third-order over second, and second over first whenever the information is available. They should not be placed in a parent category and also one of it's sub categories, e.g., no placing an article in both Category:<N> <G>musicians and Category:<N> musicians, it's redundant. Putting people in Category:Venezuelan musicians and a sub-category also falls foul of the general Wikipedia guidance: WP:CAT#Some general guidelines #3: Articles should not usually be in both a category and its subcategory.
