' (disambiguation) → ' – The article ' is currently a redirect to apostrophe. As can be seen at ' (disambiguation), apostrophe is just one of the many uses for this glyph ('
). My proposal is that it becomes a disambiguation article, specifically this one renamed. John Maynard Friedman (talk) 10:20, 13 April 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. buidhe 13:45, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support – Even though this character is the Unicode apostrophe character, it is more likely that those entering it in the search bar are looking for something they don't know the name of (prime symbol, okina) rather than something they know what is called (apostrophe). The base title has 800 views a month and this disambiguation page has 300 views a month. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:21, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- Support - per above. Yeeno (talk) 🍁 05:20, 14 April 2020 (UTC)

- Comment: Isn't the apostrophe, by far, the most common use of this character that is encountered by readers of English? I believe that is also the official name of the symbol in character sets. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:35, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it is, no argument about that. But per wp:Think of the reader, ask yourself why anyone would enter that character into the search box? (rather than the word apostrophe). We can't assume we know the answer in all cases. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 11:30, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. The most common use, and therefore the primary topic, for this glyph is as an apostrophe: the status quo is fine as it is. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 14:30, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose per traffic stats given by Þjarkur (which show that the base name gets more than twice the dab page, so serves the majority of readers landing there) and incoming links. We can't assume what the reader entered a character in the search box, but the hatnote covers that possibility in the status quo, but the incoming links serve the reader best when landing on apostrophe. -- JHunterJ (talk) 11:26, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose in English, that is an apostrophe Red Slash 23:03, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
- Or maybe it is an abbreviation for foot (unit)? Or a prime symbol? Or a displaced acute (diacritic)? Ask yourself this: why would someone type ' into the search box? --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 21:25, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Any English-speaker searching ' is likely looking for apostrophe. — the Man in Question (in question) 20:01, 3 May 2020 (UTC)
