== Question == |
I created this page, but I don't know how to add pictures. |
Can anyone add a picture of the protesters waving green flags? |
There are plenty of pictures on the web. I don't know if there |
are copy rights. |

:Dear Zahav551. Please read [[Wikipedia:Image use policy]] (or you can get a general idea of the policy by reading the [http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/עזרה:תמונות image policy in the Hebrew Wikipedia] which I assume would be in your native language). To sum it up in short – unless an independent photographer whom was at the scene of the event decided to publish his/er picture/s in Wikipedia or Wikicommons under a free license, Public domain, or Fair use license (or if you'll manage to convince a photographer whom was at the scene of the event to do so) – we would not be allowed to publish such copyrighted photos in this article. Good luck. [[User:TheCuriousGnome|TheCuriousGnome]] ([[User talk:TheCuriousGnome|talk]]) 16:45, 11 December 2012 (UTC) |

To TheCuriousGnome, |
Thank you for your reply. |
I would not know who to contact these photographers. If anyone has experience with that, it would add a lot to have a picture of the crowds in the Hamas Anniversary. By the way, are you the editor of this page? |
I actually prefer to read in English instead of Hebrew. |

::The chances of getting such a photo to be published under fair use license or Public domain license are very slim - it mostly depends on having an active Palestinian Wikipedian whom is a Hammas supporter and living in Gaza (as far as I know there aren't many and most would refuse to publish such a photo because they know that publishing it here does not serve their purpose). Am I the editor of this page? I am an editor in Wikipedia and I decided to voluntarily help you establish this article so that you would avoid beginner mistakes in creating this encyclopedic article. The article still needs a lot of work though. Why did you choose to avoid using online sources? (as in linking your sources to online articles which prove the validity of each sentence you made in the article). To TheCuriousGnome, |
Thank you for explaining and for helping with this page. |
I didn't know that I could create a link to online sources. How do I do that? |
I thought I could only link to Wiki pages. |
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to read in details all the instructions on Wiki, but I thought the current |
events are very important. |
I have a bit of a problem with the word 'occupation'. Israel is not occupying Gaza, it didn't even send in soldiers in the last conflict and it gave the Palestinians Gush Katif. If the word 'occupation' appears as part of a quote, that's ok, it's their opinion, but the way you presented it in the beginning, (when it was not part of a quote) may cause people to think that Israel is occupying Gaza. So, I replaced what you wrote with a quote. Although I would prefer if all of Mashall's statements would be in the Rally part. |
As you probably know its very easy to misinterpret what is going on in the middle east. I am sure that many people reading this page won't understand that when Mashal says "Palestine" he is referring to Palestine + Israel. |

:I have made changes to the lead according to your feedback (Mashal's statements are very important in this whole event and therefore, in my own opinion, we must include a summarized version of them in the lead). Adding links [http://www.google.com to external websites is easy]. in order to add a reference within the article to an external source all you'll need to do is write '''<nowiki><ref>[http://www.google.com description of link]</ref></nowiki>''' (of course you'll need to replace the link to google with the relevant hyper link). Please replace the references you added previously with hyper links to online articles in valid reliable media outlets. To TheCuriousGnome, |
I think this paragraph is well written and explain things more clearly. but there is a problem with the word 'territories'. 'Gush Katif' for example was a territory. I am writing alternative suggestions, I would also separate this paragraph in 2, if possible: |
The guest of honor at the ceremony was Hamas leader in-exile Khaled Mashal, who arrived in Gaza for the first time in his life, after entering the Gaza strip through Egypt. |
In his speech, which Mashal gave at a mass rally attended by hundreds of thousands of supporters, he stated explicitly that the Palestinian people would never compromise with Israel's existence and that the organization will act decisively to gradually conquer and achieve full control over the '''land/ the whole region''', which encompass both Israel and the Palestinian territories in order to establish one Islamic state in that area. |
'''Or''' |
...to gradually conquer and achieve full control over both Israel and the Palestinian territories in order to establish one Islamic state in that area. |

:Thanks for the feedback. Your first suggestion made more sense to me. I made the change accordingly. [[User:TheCuriousGnome|TheCuriousGnome]] ([[User talk:TheCuriousGnome|talk]]) 15:41, 14 December 2012 (UTC) |
