Sullivan's Crossing is a Canadian romantic drama television series, which premiered on March 19, 2023 on CTV.[1] The second season premiered April 14, 2024[2][3] and is co-produced by American broadcast network The CW.[4] In June 2024, it was announced that the show had been renewed for a third season.[5]
Premise
[edit]Based on the novel series by Robyn Carr, the series follows neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan who finds herself in legal trouble and returns to her hometown in rural Nova Scotia to reconnect with her estranged father, Sully.[6]

Production

[edit]The series was produced by Reel World Management in collaboration with Bell Media and Fremantle.[8] Production on the series started in June 2022 in Nova Scotia.[9]
The show is filmed in multiple locations in Nova Scotia. The most prominent filming locations include Shubie Park in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, 1901 Beaver Bank Road in Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia, and Agricola Street in North End, Halifax. Additionally, many aerial shots of famous coastal locations in the province were used as B-rollincluding Lawrencetown Beach and Peggy’s Cove.
In June 2023, the show was renewed for a second season by CTV and The CW.[10] Filming for the second season wrapped in the fall of 2023.[11]
In June 2024, CTV announced that series had been renewed for a third season.[5] On December 11, 2024, The CW also renewed the series for a third season.[12]
Casting
[edit]The cast also includes Chad Michael Murray as Cal, Sully's assistant at the campground that he runs, as well as Tom Jackson, Andrea Menard, Lynda Boyd, Allan Hawco, Amalia Williamson, Peter Outerbridge, Dakota Taylor and Lauren Hammersley in supporting roles.[13]
International broadcast
[edit]In the United States, the series premiered on October 4, 2023, on The CW.[14][15] Season 2 premiered on October 2, 2024.[16]
In Africa, the series airs on M-Net.
The Voyo platform broadcasts the series in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
In Sweden, seasons 1 and 2 were released in the summer of 2024 on the channel TV4.
Reception
[edit]On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the first season has an approval rating of 60% based on five critic reviews.[17]
