Stu Brooks

Stu Brooks (also known as Stu "Bassie" Brooks) is a Canadian bassist, composer and producer. He is co-founder of the band Dub Trio.[1]
He is known for playing and recording along with various artists and music bands, including Saturday Night Live Band,[2] Lady Gaga,[3] and Mike Patton.[4]
Career
[edit]Stu Brooks was born in Canada, and later relocated to Brooklyn, New York.
He has worked with artists such as G-Unit, Pretty Lights,[5] Mike Patton,[6] Lady Gaga,[7] Lauryn Hill,[8] 50 Cent,[9] Meshell Ndegeocello,[10] Mobb Deep,[11] Mary J. Blige,[12] Collie Buddz,[13] Slick Rick,[14] Eric Krasno,[15] Mark Guiliana,[16] Adam Deitch,[17] and Tupac Shakur (posthumously).[18]
His bass performances have played a role in the creation of Billboard charting and Grammy-nominated recordings, including Pretty Lights’ 2013 Grammy nominated “A Color Map Of The Sun”,[19] “So Seductive featuring 50 Cent” with 50 Cent, and Tony Yayo's Platinum certified “Thoughts of a Predicate Felon”.[20]
Since 2009, he has been working with Matisyahu. They have created four albums together and went touring. In 2014, Stu Brooks co-wrote and produced Matisyahu's studio album, "Akeda".[21][22]
In the summer of 2015, Brooks toured as a stage performer with Dr. John.[23]
Since 2016, Brooks has been working on new material for upcoming releases from Dub Trio and Matisyahu.
Since 2018, Brooks has been a substitute in the Saturday Night Live Band.
In 2022, Brooks Collaborated with "Fall Out Boy's" Patrick Stump on the single "Sound the Alarm".
Brooks also performed at "Coachella" in 2022[24] as Danny Elfman's bassist.
Throughout his professional career as a bassist, Stu Brooks has been involved in various projects, creating over 20 various albums as a songwriter, record producer, and composer.
