The Statue of Lord Rama is a monument in Tapovan, Nashik district of Maharashtra. It is 21.33 m (70 feet) tall. It is known as the highest statue of Lord Rama in Maharashtra.[1][2] It was unveiled by Gaurang Das Prabhu of ISKCON and Dr. Vinayak Govilkar on October 12, 2024.[3] It was built under the guardianship of Rahul Uttamrao Dhikle, a member of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.[4][5]
Planning
[edit]The Ministry of Tourism under the Government of Maharashtra passed 5 Crores as the fund for the Statue. It is located at the Ramshristi Udyan, Tapovan Panchavati [6] It is known that Lord Rama have spent 14 years in Tapovan. It is made up of Fiber reinforced Polymer on the 7 acres of land given by State Government and Central Government.[1] There is a 108 Feets long Dharm Dhwaj (religious flag) behind the Statue.[7]
It was unveiled on the first day of Dussehra in 2024 at the Ramshristi Udyan, Tapovan Panchavati in the Nashik district of Maharashtra.[7]
