Starcraft RV is an American manufacturer of recreational vehicles (RVs) and a subsidiary of the Jayco Family of Companies, which is part of Thor Industries.[1] Based in Shipshewana, Indiana, the company produces travel trailers and fifth wheels, with a history dating back to its founding in 1903.[2]

History

[edit]

Starcraft RV was founded in 1903 as a manufacturer of farm equipment and later expanded into marine manufacturing.[3] The company then shifted its focus to the RV market in the 1960s.[4] A significant moment in Starcraft’s history occurred when Lloyd Bontrager, who later founded Jayco, developed an innovative lifter system for the company’s pop-up campers.[5][6]

In 1991, Starcraft RV became part of the Jayco Family of Companies through acquisition. Since then, the company has expanded its product lines and operations, solidifying its reputation as a leading RV manufacturer in North America.[7][8]

Models

Awards and recognition

[edit]

Starcraft RV has received several industry awards for its recreational vehicles.[11] In 2022, the company won the RV Pro Best New Model award for the Super Lite Maxx 19MBH.[12] The following year, in 2023, Starcraft RV earned the Dealer Satisfaction Index Award – 29th Annual Dealer Satisfaction[13] and RV Pro's Best New Model award for the Autumn Ridge 28BHS.
