Sorry We're Closed is a narrative single-player survival horror game. Players assume the role of Michelle, who is in the final days of a fatal curse placed on her by a powerful demon looking for love.[2]

Development

Sorry We're Closed is the debut project of à la mode games, a Bournemouth-based development studio formed by C.B. and Tom Bedford in 2022, who had been working on the game from November 2020.[2] An announcement trailer for the game was published on 20 October 2023,[3] and the game was released on the announced release date of 14 November 2024.[1]

Reception

According to review aggregator Metacritic, Sorry We're Closed received "generally favorable" reviews,[4] the eighth-highest score for a shooter video game in that year.[15] The game was named as one of the best of 2024 by Eurogamer.[16] Sorry We're Closed received praise for its narrative, characters and exploration mechanics, although some critics expressed criticism at the game's combat.[17][18][19][20][21]
