According to Book Marks, the book received "rave" reviews based on sixteen critic reviews with twelve being "rave" and four being "positive".[2] On BookBrowse, the book received a from "Critics' Consensus" and for the media reviews on a rating scale out of five: New York Times, Kirkus Reviews, and Publishers Weekly reviews under five and The Atlantic, The Huffington Post, The Paris Review, and Los Angeles Review of Books reviews under four.[3]
