the Ismailis had killed Amir Orhan, the Sultan's governor of Ganja. Thereupon, Jalal al-Din marched on the Ismailis and captured the Alamud and Kumis regions.[1]
Background
[edit]Jalal al-Din Mangburni's Vizier Sharaf al-Molk set watch on all roads. Finally, he caught the approaching Ismaili Caravan of 70 men. Sharaf al-Molk did not stop at searching the caravan, he massacred every Ismaili down to the last man and divided the spoils equally among his soldiers.[2]
Amir Orhan and Ismailis
[edit]Meanwhile, a commander of the Khorasan vizier Orhan had plundered Tun and Kain, which were from Kuhistan, which was subject to the Ismailis. While Jalal al-Din was in Khoy, the Ismailis' ambassador Kamal came and complained about Orhan's regents. Later, the Ismaili assassins killed Orhan.[2]
