Shahram Pourassad (In Persian: شهرام پوراسد), born August 16, 1968, in Tehran) is an Iranian artist and actor. He began his professional activities in acting, directing, music, photography and painting from childhood.
He learned to play the violin in classical and Iranian styles under the guidance of masters such as Ali Tajvadi, Farid Farjad, and Davood Ganjei. After studying opera under the tutelage of masters Hossein Sarshari and Gurgen Musisian, he collaborated with the Tehran Symphony Orchestra for many years.
Pourassad's father was one of the professors and teachers of modern scientific photography in Iran, which motivated him to take specialized photography courses in Iran and Germany, leading to successful photography exhibitions in the 1980s. After various artistic experiences, he went to Germany to complete his knowledge in music, photography, cinema and theater. Upon returning to Iran, he studied acting, directing and architectural engineering. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Art and Architecture of Tehran.
In 1992, Pourassad played a role in his first feature film, The Last Identification. During his studies, he learned from masters such as Hamid Samandarian, Rokneddin Khosravi, Behram Beyzai, Mahmoud Dowlatabadi, Farhad Nazerzadeh Kermani and Ahmad Damood. Alongside his acting activities in cinema, television and theater, he also worked as a speaker and voice actor on the radio. Among his international achievements is the film The Rooster Feather Paper, which won the Chicago Film Festival Peace Prize in 2014.[1][2] Pourassad has taught various art forms and is currently working as an architect.
